I just saw this in the new Woodcraft catalog: http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2085970/44693/MKMorse-105-x-12-x-3-TPI-Carbide-Bandsaw-Blade.aspx Anybody have any experience with this blade? Or thoughts as compared to Lenox Tri-master? |

Thomas I bought a trimaster 144in by 1./2in tri- master from industrial blade in LA. for my aging scmi s-45.It does a good job, after abt 5 hrs of use , one day the blade jammed into a 2 by 8 piece of OO and bent 2 carbide teeth .I sent it back and for the cost of postage had it repaired gratis (free). You can get at least 1 resharpening from what I was told by industrial. I have a friend who is a top flight machinest , and he uses morse and or simonds which he recommended to me for metal cutting , so I cannot vouch for how good these blades are .Frankly IMHO I would wait at least 6months to see what other woodworkers are saying e.g. woodweb professsional cabinetmakers and wood net forum pros and amateurs. My opinion ,If you need a blade right away I would go with the lenox tri- master or woodmaster CT.The guys at industrial blade do not recommend these carbide tipped blades for saws under 18in. Hope this info helps .Think we spoke on the phone before I left st louis in 02 . cheers. |
